Variations in teaching of removable partial dentures in Spanish dental schools

2010

Objectives: Despite the increasing demand for implant-based treatments, removable partial dentures (RPDs) are frequently used in the oral rehabilitation of partially dentate patients. Furthermore, the Bologna Declaration Agreement (1999) promotes the freedom of movement both of students among dental schools and of graduates across the European Union (EU). Given that inconsistency in teaching among dental schools may lead to confusion, this study aimed to evaluate the status of teaching and clinical experience reached by undergrad uate dentalstudents in Spanish dental schools in relation to RPDs. Study design: A questionnaire seeking information on the preclinical and clinical teaching of RP…

2012

The implementation of the competence-based approach set out by the Bologna Declaration within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) entails important changes in learning processes and brings new approaches to content teaching and learning, inevitably affecting planning, methodology and assessment (Cano García, 2008). Achieving Bologna Goals: Where Does Europe Stand Ahead of 2010

2010

Ten years have passed since the signature of the Bologna declaration. Seventeen countries have joined the process; since then, several new action lines have been added and the original action lines have often gained a new and more sophisticated content. The 2009 Bologna Stocktaking exercise included the traditional quantitative indicators, the criteria this time being designed to evaluate the goals set for 2010. In addition, particular emphasis was put on qualitative analysis on this occasion to provide a realistic picture of what has been achieved and which initiatives will take more time than anticipated to implement. The 2009 stocktaking shows that while there has indeed been important …

2017

The history of the management education system in Spain can be described by breaking it down into four periods: (1) the emergence of the management education system, (2) the creation of formal university studies and foundation of management/economics faculties (under pre-democratic laws), (3) the structuration and universalization of the management education system (under democratic laws) and (4) the current management education system (after the implementation of the European higher education reform, or Bologna declaration). The Changing Role of the State in French Higher Education: From Curriculum Control to Programme Accreditation

2004

The French higher education system is currently undergoing deep changes in relation to degree structure and accreditation process. In the wake of the Bologna declaration, new state regulations have been introduced since 2000 that aimed at building a degree structure that is common to all higher education institutions. As their implementation will be phased in step by step until 2006, a study of the accreditation processes in operation in France must present both past and future schemes.
